drawing knots

I thought maybe I could draw these #

knots I learn, and even though the fisherman's knot proved to be difficult to draw at first, I found maybe I could try and draw an overhand, and it proved to be satisfying! In fact it is very cool, in my experience, to be able to draw an overhand knot! πŸŒ…

knots

sitting at the piano, and sometimes I am still anxious #

at the piano, so I thought it would be a good idea to use stretch bands, as well as a medicine ball, and it proved to be awesome exercise. Yesterday I heard about the use of stretch bands:

The workout that builds muscle, boosts your brain, and slows down aging with Dr. Andy Galpin

does drawing, and making knots #

train a sense of symmetry, and a sense of algebra?

I struggle to draw / make knots, but its also fun

drawing with the left hand good for #

brain improvment also

i can see there is symmetry to knots #

lots of symmetry knots are also seem to be sort of arrows and graphs,

I don't know if it is significant but #

nevertheless I noticed and I find it interesting, : that drawing a crossing of two strings, or two lines, is drawn using 3 line segments, while in space these are two things so in ℝ² these are 3 things maybe, while in ℝ³ they are 2. perhaps with algebra we can highlight these 3 things are really two even in the plane

🧱 basic building blocks #

of music, I still find it difficult to see what are the basic building blocks of music

sitting at the piano one day #

I wondered why they say music is mathematics, or rather that music has mathematical patterns, or something like that I was interested in the algebraic, I heard Eugenia Cheng mention in a podcast that a algebraic pattern like commutativity is interesting in music, collaborating with computer agent while sitting at the piano I tried to find what mathematical patterns are there, and as I was pressing the keys, I experienced as if sort of I was sitting inside mathematics, like as I was pressing the keys I was making mathematics. If I remember well it was the idea of, well actually I might have been inspired by the Peano axioms, because I was just learning and understading something about making the natural numbers from 0, and the successor function: so I thought if all you need is axioms to construct mathmeatical worlds, then what are the axioms at the piano to construct mathematical worlds, and I realised that "wow, I can construct mathematical world at the piano!", which simultaneously felt like making mathematics in the world, or something like that. Like sitting at a mathematical instrument and it was like sitting inside mathematics, the world was mathematics, or something like that, you know?

a book on the axioms of Piano #

It seemed like a cool idea to me to maybe write a book on the foundational patterns of Piano. Then I thought I must keep this idea to myself, because this idea is great. But then I thought (which is the sort of insight I often experience lately and I attribute this to learning mathematics) if I share an idea, and it is realised, well, then I did not have to expend much effort, so this in fact might be a very effective way to do things. Why, I think of a beautiful book laying down the axioms of Piano, connecting mathematics with music through piano play and categories - and it just manifests, all I had to do was to share the idea! If all else fails, I can still write the book.

these are some of the drawings I made today #
